Can't Delete Outlook  2007 recurring appointment
I have several Outlook 2007 users that accepted a recurring calendar appointment from another user. When the recipients receive the reminder for this appointment, they following pop-up is displayed when they click on "Dismiss", "Open Item", or "Dismess All" "Cannot open the item for this reminder. Cannot locate recurrence information for this appopintment." We are currently using Outlook as a POP3 client on a non-Exchange server. The Calendar appointment is not listed when selecting "Tools", "View", "Current View", "All Appointments". Scanpst doesn't help. Running Office Diagnostics doesn't help. Running Outlook with the "/cleanreminders" switch doesn't resolve it either.

The user that created the re-occuring appointment originally isn't able to go in, see the appointment in their calendar, and remove/adjust it?

The creatorhas deleted the appointment, but the recipients still cannot. The recipients' information for this appointment shows no information regarding who created it, who the other recipients are, the start date, end date, etc.

Clarify: there has a OL client installed on a un-exchange server, user got error when he click any button on the window of the reminder of a recurring appointment, also the appointment cant be found in affected users OL, the creator has deleted the appointment by delete the series and send the cancellation mail to affected user as well, please correct me if anything was misunderstanding Collect info: 1. Version: exchange, windows server and client OS, outlook Possible solution 1 (use MAPI Editor to delete reminder): Cause: this symptom will appear if Reminder Queue werent consistent in Reminder Table or appointment has been corrupted Important: Delete reminder by using MAPI Editor will also delete the item from calendar, please backup your calendar before doing this 1. Set outlook open in online mode and close outlook 2. Run MAPI Editor ->Session menu-> Logon and Display Store Table->choose your mail profile (this will not appear if you only have one profile)->Right-click the one that display name column shows Mailbox-your name->choose Open Store 3. Now in the second window, expand Root-Mailbox->Double-click Reminders 4. In the third window, find that recurring appointment by checking Subject and To column->Right-click the appointment->choose Delete Message->select Permanent Deletion in pop-up window 5. Then start OL with cleanreminders <outlook.exe /cleanreminders> Possible solution 2: 1. If solution 1 werent working, following solution 1 to step 3, when you located Reminders folder, Right-click it->choose Delete Folder->do not check Hard Deletion in confirm window, just click OK 2. Close MAPI Editor and start outlook with cleanreminders <outlook.exe /cleanreminders> PS: If you didnt see item in MAPI Editor, try to use OWA to seek the appointment Resources: Turn off Cached Mode to use Online Mode http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP010223431033.aspx?pid=CH010045991033 Download MAPI Editor http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=55FDFFD7-1878-4637-9808-1E21ABB3AE37&displaylang=en

I beleive if you are not running exchange that mean your outlook profile has been corrupted or if you are running exchange then you need to delete mail box from exchange use exmerge for mail box and then create the mail box again. you need to run clean up agent to clear the mail box. restore all the mails and calenders after you restore you will see the appointment that causing the problem. That is 100% solution. I had a same problem it worked. good luck
